Viomerse’s Prostate Phantom is a disposable hydrogel model for the simulation of multiple medical procedures. Utilizing advanced imaging (CT and MRI) or real-time transrectal ultrasound, the user can train on different biopsy techniques (MRI-fusion and transperineal), and focal therapy. All of the tissues mimic the properties of human organs. An MRI DICOM file is included for use with fusion systems and focal therapy targeting.

PROCEDURES:

Ultrasound and MRI-Fusion Biopsy

The prostate phantom is ideal for training in transrectal and transperineal biopsy. Internal lesions are visible on the included MRI DICOM file and apparent with ultrasound. The prostate phantom enables a completely functional biopsy procedure with removal of highlighted hydrogel tissue samples confirming successful targeting and training validation. The phantom has been customized to function well with all the biopsy platforms currently available. Its unique design also allows repeated biopsy punctures because of its proprietary components.  

Focal Therapy

The phantom has been validated with multiple focal therapy platforms including cryotherapy, brachytherapy and HIFU (both Sonoblate and Focal One).
