About Viomerse

The Leaders in Immersive Training

Our Mission

Create a Safer Surgical Environment for Patients through Innovations in Simulation and Technology

The mission of Viomerse is to create a safer surgical environment for patients through innovations in medical simulation and immersive technology. In order to move the majority of surgical training outside of the live operating room, Viomerse invented and developed two technologies that enable the acquisition of surgical skills through guided practice.

Viomerse designs high-fidelity, full procedural physical phantoms that replicate realistic anatomy and provide a hands-on learning experience unparalleled on the market. These models build muscle memory and technical precision; however, physical simulation alone cannot fully deliver procedural knowledge or ensure safe surgical performance.

To address this educational gap, Viomerse developed VioVision, an extended reality training platform that enables remote supervising physician proctoring during simulation, supported by an integrated digital curriculum that is provided during the procedure. Recognizing the time demands on expert proctors, travel constraints, and the growing volume of procedures requiring training, Viomerse created a scalable alternative to in-person instruction that is more practical, efficient, and cost-effective.

The combination of realistic procedural phantoms and immersive remote proctoring guides users through procedures, corrects errors in real time, and records and reports performance metrics. This integrated surgical training paradigm has the potential to significantly reduce patient risk while expanding access to high-quality surgical education and medical device training worldwide. We believe that our phantoms and the VioVision extended reality system are the future of surgical education, and an innovation that can lead to broad improvement in healthcare and medical education.

Our History

Founded in 2016, Viomerse began when Dr. Jonathan Stone saw the need to practice before complicated neurosurgical procedures. He recognized there was a void in the surgical training marketplace, and so he assembled a team of thought leaders to address the unmet need.

The Company which originally began as Simulated Inanimate Models (SIM) has now evolved into Viomerse as our product and technology offering have expanded.
